Introduction

This user research report has been prepared for Spheron - a decentralised hosting solution company that provides a decentralised and secure platform for web hosting. The goal of this report is to gain insights into user behaviour, preferences, and pain points related to decentralised hosting services, and to identify opportunities for improving the company's product offerings.

Methodology:

To gather valuable insights, I employed a multi-faceted approach that included in-depth interviews and surveys. Here's a breakdown of my methodology:

In-Depth Interviews:

I conducted in-depth interviews with 25 participants who have relevant experience with decentralized hosting solutions. The interviewees comprised both small business owners and developers who have hands-on experience with decentralized hosting. The interviews were conducted remotely and lasted for approximately one hour each. Through these interviews, I aimed to gain a comprehensive understanding of their perspectives, challenges, and requirements regarding decentralized hosting solutions.

Competitive Research:

In addition to the interviews, I performed thorough competitive research to gain insights into the business requirements of decentralized hosting providers. By analyzing the offerings and features of other providers in the market, I was able to identify industry trends, assess the competitive landscape, and understand the expectations of users within the context of decentralized hosting.

Surveys:

To complement my qualitative research, I conducted surveys to gather broader feedback from our user base. These surveys were designed to obtain quantitative data and understand the needs and preferences of our users on a larger scale. By collecting responses from a diverse range of users, I aimed to capture a comprehensive overview of the pain points, feature requests, and satisfaction levels related to our decentralized hosting services.

By employing this mixed-method approach, I was able to gather both qualitative and quantitative insights. The in-depth interviews provided rich, nuanced perspectives from small business owners and developers, while the surveys allowed me to collect data from a larger user base. The combination of these methods has enabled me to gain a holistic understanding of our users and their requirements.
